Focus is a funny thing
Because in the end, the result probably wasn't worth all the effort. But it's still a neat thing: Map of Wineries in the Solvang Area. There was funny scene in "Scent of a Woman" that I'd never noticed. Charlie and Lt. Col. Slade have breakfast, and the maitre d' says to Charlie, "Perhaps you'll be more comfortable wearing this" (implying that a jacket was required). Pacino, playing the blind Lieutenant Colonel, had this in response: "It looks good on you."

It was nice just to spend time around the house, not just my bedroom or the living room, but the whole house. I tossed the frisbee in the park, walked to Coffee Bean, lounged in my backyard (shirtless, too: that afternoon is hot) while reading about how Augusten Burroughs lost his virginity to a pedophile. And I made a chicken & veal stock because I was bored and my Crock Pot looked neglected. Also because I had all these leftover carrots, celery and onions. Which I used when I baked the chicken. Which I put in a spinach and pecan dish. Which I never ate.

There exists a version
of myself that chose wisely, that saved the day, that won, that got it right. I am his approximation. I've rounded down.
