I have never seen that onion before.
I apologize about the lack of posts; I've been busy. Sorry. Last night's group session was preceded with one of my face-to-face sessions with Jill, which comprised of me talking to her for about 45 minutes. It was nice, if only because it gave me a chance to talk about myself, a subject of which I am very fond. The entire experience was pretty cool, but really all I did was reiterate stuff that I blab about here all the time. I guess I'm self-medicating.
There's a fellow in the group who had completed his last night that night. He's a pitcher in the Frontier League, one of the independent baseball leagues. My one-on-one left me with a few minutes before the group session, and so we were both early. It gave me the chance to ask him a few questions regarding different pitches. We were talking for a while, and in the meantime the other group members arrived.
Jill was still running a little late, and it gave me the chance to talk to another fellow in the group. He was a techno DJ in Los Angeles, and I tried making small talk, but he was a little self-congratulatory (a trait I, too, exhibit) when he talked about he and his friends are the ones who started
the scene here in LA.
Jill finally arrived and was busy doing some administrative stuff, and it gave me a chance to chat with a guy nicknamed Odie about the NCAA tournament bracket. At that point I realized that I had talked to three different people about three different things and felt at ease with all of them. You see, Jill had mentioned during my face-to-face that I had intimacy issues (I'll get to that another time), and while I would tend to agree, it's interesting that I'm still able to interact with people, meaning that I struggle with the last 1% of the connection that I'll make with you. And for casual encounters, that's fine, but it's led me to be very private and secluded. I mean, outside of the blog.
Since I have to take a taxi home anyway, I decided to stop by the brand new Whole Foods here in Thousand Oaks. It's the size of a normal Ralph's, but it's all Whole Foods-type-content. It was great, and I grabbed a bunch of random vegetables I've never tried. It felt great to be back in a grocery store and not buying just a single backpack-full of stuff.
