Segregation in Prison
So the US Supreme Court is opposed to the California policy of separating new inmates by race, citing that the government may not practice racial segregation. Really? So it's okay for the government to practice sexual discrimination, by having separate male and female restroom facilities? So it's okay for the government to have age or weight discrimination by placing old or fat inmates in Furlough on bottom bunks? Segregation is the act of separating for the purpose of providing better or different treatment for one group versus another. As I can personally attest to the fact that Mexican-Black relations in prison aren't optimal, I think it's actually prudent to separate inmates by race while they get tempered to prison life.
