Hello, double digits. I'm down to 97 days as of today, just shy of 14 weeks remaining. I look back at the previous 8 weeks and think to myself how quickly time manages to fly. I've read more books, logged more riding time, and increased my desire to leave Ventura County and never come back ever ever again ever.
My mother came to visit yesterday, and for lunch I had fried rice (consisting of adobo beef, scrambled egg, and scallions), along with baked salmon in a soy-sauce lemon-juice vinaigrette. My mother had a Greek salad with a raspberry vinaigrette and walnuts. She also baked these really chewey cookies with Reese's peanut butter cups in them. And she also brought Krispie Kreme. She also had a big pot of rice that went untouched, and a pot of
tinola which even the Filipino officer on duty recognized. I'm not sure at which point my mother and I became foodies, but I'm sure glad we did.

My formerly-hyperextended knee is doing better, and I managed to play a few more games of ball before opting to try and
true my bicycle rim. I got 95% of the way done, and only had a slight wobble to correct, but I inadvertantly undid all of my work and had even worse wobble than when I began! Fortunately, one of the chow hall janitors out on
rec time saw me and helped me out. If you're dumb, surround yourself with smart people. If you're smart, surround yourself with smart people that disagree with you.
