I've been biking around all weekend. I've always felt that because of the expansiveness of Los Angeles, that every trip in your car is an epic adventure, and that coming to terms with that fact will ultimately decide whether or not you can live here. That's definitely the case when your only mode of transportation is riding around on bicycle. I'm fortunate that Thousand Oaks is large enough to have most everything I need within biking distance. In fact, the only thing that's really far away is Target, but the mall is close by, as is Best Buy and all the grocery stores.

Oh, and bear with me as I try out different fonts for my blog.

Days Four and Five
Rode around town for no good reason.

I rode through a neighborhood of Thousand Oaks I've always liked, south of the library. Large oak trees line the streets, large houses with large yards. Not one of those highly polished and manicured neighborhoods that you see in San Marino, but there's a quiet elegance about it. I've always felt that if I had to stay in Thousand Oaks, I'd eventually want to move there.

I rode my bike down to Thousand Oaks Blvd and past Best Buy. A couple of days ago, Jacob and I were solicited by a young girl there who was selling magazines. She chewed us out for wasting her time, when her magazine selling job was helping put her through school. My feeling was that I didn't feel like subsidizing another wasp ditz to go to San Diego State to study psychology. Jacob and I were called bastards by the aforementioned chick before we headed off.

I rode to Whole Foods where I picked up some fish. I made sure he packed it in a lot of ice so that I could turn my pack into a virtual cooler. I also had to pick up a couple of bunches of basil so that I could make pesto for some coworkers. I spent a lot of the weekend just chilling around at home but I needed some coffee, and so I rode my bike down to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

If it weren't for the sex, I'm pretty sure Dale could be gay. Hell, then he'd just be hanging out with the guys.
