I have a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It's a simple message and I'm
Leaving out the whistles and bells.

They Might Be Giants, "Birdhouse In Your Soul"
---
On the way up to Piedras Blancas outside of Ojai, Heather and I decided to take a more circuitous route to get to Los Padres National Forest. Along the way, we passed the appropriately named Sulphur Mountain and the town of Sulphur Springs. Rotten eggs galore. Nearby was a small college, to which I commented, "What kind of a college would be out in the middle of nowhere? Must be a liberal arts college." After checking out their website, I found out that they have an interesting approach to their curriculum, opting to use "Great Books" as opposed to textbooks.

We spent a few hours tooling around the sandstone rock formations, and I'll have my pictures posted soon.

Spending the weekend with Heather was great, especially since I forced her to watch I Love The 90's with me. I highly recommend watching Anchorman, by the way, especially for the scene with a bunch of cameos in it. Of course, part of the appeal of the movie is having all the main characters say Ron a bunch of times.

I've recently discovered a great diner in Thousand Oaks that serves omelettes the size of sourdough bread bowls. It pretty closely approximates the appeal of going to Pie N Burger in Pasadena without a) the driving distance and b) the driving distance is really the only bad thing I have to say about Pie N Burger. But I've only been to Harold's for breakfast, so I'll try and see what the rest of their formidable menu is like.

There exists a version
of myself that chose wisely, that saved the day, that won, that got it right. I am his approximation. I've rounded down.
