I want to be a lion.
Everybody wants to pass as cats.
We all want to be big, big stars.
We got different reasons for that.

Dinner with Nita at Monsoon Cafe was important for two reasons: one, it allowed me to connect with someone with whom I share a surprising amount in common. Second, it allows me to exorcise, the ghosts of demons past. All in all, though, it was a fun time, and it was cool to just go out to dinner with one other human being and just talk about relationships in a very abstract sense.
Prior to that, I was over at Eddie's apartment, watching two very good football teams destroy two other not-as-good football teams. In the meantime, I learned how to play darts cricket-style and saw a lot of old friends from high school.
Prior to that, I spent the weekend in Oceanside for my father's birthday. It was cool to spend time with the family, but it was also a little disconcerting to run into a lot of homophobic rhetoric throughout the household. I found myself on the defensive quite a bit, trying to instill libertarian virtues throughout, but in the end, it's no use discussing politics with people who are adamantly set in their ways for no good reason.
Prior to that, I was in El Segundo, drinking a lot of scotch and actually smoking cloves and cigars. Single malt scotch trumps them all as my vice of choice (I guess that's more socially acceptable than, say, having whores as my vice of choice).
This all happened just this weekend, and I find myself leading a very busy life of late. It's pretty fun, but I hope I remember to post more updates on a regular basis.
